Let Tinubu be told that he cannot impose the agreement with Buhari us - Reuben Abati
Popular Nigerian journalist and former presidential spokesperson, Dr Reuben Abati has reacted over the comments made by the national leader of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Tinubu few days ago when he met with some delegates from the south West.
It would be recalled that Asiwaju claimed that without him, Buhari wouldn't have become the president. The former Lagos State governor also stated that he told Buhari that after his tenure, power would move to South West, and he would be the one to go for the position of the Presidency.
Speaking on the development on Arise Tv, Reuben Abati stated that the agreement Asiwaju had with Buhari should not be applicable to Nigerians.
He said Nigerians should be left alone to choose their next president.
Hear him "Tinubu needs to be reminded that nobody have the sense of entitlements about the Presidency of Nigeria. The best he can ask for is the ticket of the APC. Even the ticket of the APC is not something that he can force in a democratic process. He is a man that is known for promotion of democracy. Nigeria can not be held for ransom in a country of over 200 million people.
Asiwaju Tinubu can not impose the agreement he had with Buhari on Nigerians. We are not part of that agreement. He should allow Nigerians to use their PVC and elect the next president. "Abati stated.
