CAN officially React to Deborah's Death: Meet with Governor Tambuwal for a Closed door Meeting
After the unfortunate killing of a female student at Shehu Shagari College of Education, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Barrister Aminu Tambuwal, meets with CAN officials behind closed door.
A distress call was received from the college, saying that students were rioting over one female student, Deborah Samuel, a level two student, who was suspected of publishing a social media post that defiled the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Tambuwal condemned Deborah's murder earlier today and told CAN officials that all offenders would face justice.
Governor Tambuwal immediately issued an order to the state's police commissioner to investigate her death.
He also urged everyone to go about their lawful business and not to be alarmed because the situation is under control.
Reverend Nuhu Iliya, speaking on behalf of the CAN officials, stated that Christian communities will not react with violence, but rather will endeavor to unite both religions in order to foster peace and harmony throughout Nigeria.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Governor for his actions, as well as condolences to the late Deborah's family.
